Pella Police Chief Robert Bokinsky is informing Marion County businesses that a shortchange artist has been reported in the area. The subject in question is a black male with dreadlocks that may or may not be a wig. He is described as driving a large white vehicle. The suspect purchases small items at a convenience store and attempts to pay with a $100 bill. He then confuses the clerk while change is being made, often leaving with $200 to $300. The suspect may be coming from outside of the Marion County area. Knoxville and Monroe have been recently experienced these crimes.
