The Knoxville Snow Ordinance goes into effect beginning this evening at 7PM, while the Pella Snow Ordinance begins at midnight.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports that there have been several accidents over the course of the day, and many vehicles in ditches. Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholt tells KNIA/KRLS News that a tow ban is in effect, and he urges caution if one must travel.
The Marion County Engineer’s Office reports that county pavements have benefited from the above freezing temperatures this afternoon. However, snow packed and ice roads should be anticipated, especially as temperatures drop in the evening and overnight. They plan to keep four trucks out until 6:00 PM to push back drifts on highways. Snow removal on both paved and rock roads will begin again at 4:00 AM Wednesday. Snow packed and icy conditions should be expected on rock roads.
