Schools across Marion County cancelled on Wednesday due to the winter storm, but what process do administrators go through when deciding to call a snow day? Pella Superintendent Greg Ebeling says that he doesn’t like to call school off the night before, even if a large storm is expected, until he sees the accumulation the next morning. He says that they often call a 2 hour delay before deciding to cancel completely, so he has time to talk with staff from around the area and get a feel for road conditions.
