Finishing the season at 18 – 3, the Twin Cedars’ girls’ basketball team is looking for the magic number of “22” in that win column for a trip to the state tournament later this month. On deck tonight for the Sabers is a visit from Moulton-Udell in the first round of the regional tournament. Twin Cedars has won ten of their last 11 games, which includes a 53 – 28 win over the Eagles in early January. The Sabers were up 32 – 10 at the half in that game, and 49 – 20 after three, and will be looking for their seniors to step up again in tonight’s game. It’s as close to a first round bye that the Sabers were going to get, as the Eagles enter with a 4 – 15 record. Tonight’s playoff opener for the Sabers tips off in Bussey at 7:00 p.m.
