A local farmer will be presenting two $2,500 checks to Marion County Schools tonight. Pella resident Mark Van Wyngarden entered into a Monsanto Fund program called Grow Communities, which gives winners the chance to donate $2,500 to a non-profit of their choice. Van Wyngarden will present two of these check, one to Pella Christian High School, and one to Creation Station Preschool. He will be able to present two checks, because as part of the program, farmers in counties declared a drought disaster area received double the donation. He will present the checks tonight at Pella Christian High at 7pm.
