A Winter Storm Warning is in effect beginning at three this afternoon and running until noon tomorrow. According to the National Weather Service, a band of snowfall will spread into the area beginning late this afternoon into this evening. Six-to-nine inches of snow is expected. The majority of the snowfall is expected to occur in six hours or less at a rate of one-to-two inches per hour. Strong winds are expected to create visibility issues throughout the afternoon and evening, creating dangerous travel conditions throughout – especially during rush hour traffic.
