Now with the peace of mind of knowing who their first round postseason opponents will be, the Pella High basketball teams will hit the road for a conference basketball test at Norwalk this evening. The last time the girls’ teams met up, the Warriors had an eleven-point fourth quarter lead vanish into a victory for the Lady Dutch in the waning seconds. The Pella girls were able to bounce back after a last second loss to Knoxville to beat Fairfield this past Saturday. It was an offensive struggle the first time the two boys’ teams met for Pella; the Little Dutch only were able to muster 35 points in a 55 – 35 loss. Also, Pella knows they’ll be travelling to Bondurant-Ferrar in the first round of their regional tournament. Coach Mark Core said that his team will need to have an all-around great game defensively to turn the tides on Norwalk. Pella enters play at 12 – 6 while the Warriors come in at 12 – 5, and you can stream the Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader live on our website, kniakrls.com, with Cory Houser and Randy Sikkema calling the action. The pregame coverage begins at 6:00 p.m. and the girls will tip-off at 6:15. There will also be a delayed broadcast of both games immediately following Pella Christian-Knoxville’s doubleheader on 92.1 KRLS.
