The Central baseball team flexed their collective muscles Wednesday after winning a pair of nine inning games to open up the Russ Matt Invitational in Winter Haven, Florida. The extra day of rest seemed to help the Dutch; after their game on Tuesday against top ten ranked team, Webster was cancelled due to rain. Central began the day with a 6 – 2 win over Ripon, then followed that up with a shootout 12 – 7 victory over Rhodes College out of Tennessee. Ryan Dusil labored through six innings, giving up four runs on nine hits while only striking out two, but it was enough for the win to improve his record to 2 – 0 on the year. Seth Carson was 3-for-4 in the game with an RBI, and Jordan Judkins had a pair of singles and three RBIs for the now 6 – 1 Dutch. Central’s life gets a little less hectic today, as they’ll be playing just one team this morning, St. Norbert, at 9:30 a.m.
