They may have only sent one wrestler to the NCAA Division III national wrestling championships in Cedar Rapids, but the Central College grapplers may have done a more impressive feat in moving the program forward. The Dutch achieved their highest national ranking (14th) since the 1991-92 campaign, won at least ten dual meets in a season for the fourth consecutive year, and had an impressive showing from their youth, sophomore Daniel Page, at the national tournament. In a season full of accomplishments, head coach of the Dutch Wrestling team, Eric Van Kley, says that the team getting national recognition and the amount of dedication his guys had stands out to him the most. Van Kley added that he’s looking forward to next season already with the quality of the returners he will have coming back to the team.
