Their games last weekend being postponed, and then again their contest against Grinnell on Thursday being postponed due to the field not being ready, the Central baseball team will hope they can finally lace up their cleats for a pair of seven inning games against visiting Lawrence College out of Wisconsin. Still sitting on a 6 – 3 record, the Dutch haven’t played a game since March 15 when they lost 19 – 6 in seven innings to Benedictine. Coach Adam Stevens says that with the couple extra weeks of practice they’ve had, he and his coaching staff have been trying to retool their defensive strategies a bit. Lawrence also enters at 6 – 3 on the year, and have had their share of postponed and cancelled games to deal with, too. This morning’s doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. at Central.
