Peace Tree beer will soon be available in a shatter-proof container. Co-owner Megan McKay tells KNIA/KRLS that they’re experimenting with putting their beer in cans, starting with a batch of Sidekick Kolsch this spring. She explains that cans are a recent trend in the craft brew industry for a number of reasons – they’re easier to ship, chill faster, and helps preserve the beer by sealing it better and not letting light in. McKay acknowledges there is a stigma attached to cans, so this is just a way to enter the can market. She adds they don’t know yet whether they’d expand further with cans in the future.
