Losing several seniors off a state tournament team from just a season ago, the Pella High boys’ soccer team will be dealing with something they haven’t seen a whole lot of in recent years, and that’s youth. With a JV team that was virtually untouchable last spring, head Coach Mark Solomon is excited to work with the underclassmen that will be coming up and possibly be called upon for some starts. Solomon said that while they may have younger kids on the team this year, the balance is still there, but in a different way. The Little Dutch soccer team went 17 – 3 – 1 last year, losing in the first round of the state tournament to Spirit Lake. Coach Solomon said this year, their first goal is to win the Little Hawkeye Conference championship. Pella opens up play on April 2.
