The Pella Fire Department was called out to assist the Knoxville Fire Department with Monday’s structure fire. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkum says there is a history of cooperation between the two departments, and that this was his first opportunity to work with new Knoxville Fire Chief Nick Bonstell. He says he hopes to sit down with Bonstell in the near future and review what resources the departments can make available to each other in an emergency.
