Knoxville High School continues with their performances of “The Phantom of the Opera” this weekend. Director Jackie Duffy says that it’s a little bit different than past musicals, as it’s a more dramatic and tone and less light-hearted. She explains that there are characters that do throw some extra levity into their performances while still remaining serious in tone. The music also adds to the drama – Duffy says that they have two accompanists playing synthesizers to help create that full, opera sound. The show starts at 7pm on Saturday and 2pm Sunday at the Knoxville Middle School Auditorium. Doors open an hour beforehand.
