The Marion County Chapter of Pheasants Forever is holding their annual banquet tomorrow at Dyer-Hudson Hall. Jeff Mattias tells KNIA/KRLS that the banquet is their biggest fundraiser annually. It includes a live and silent auction, featuring a number of prints, hunting trips, guns, and more. Happy hour begins at 5:30; dinner starts at 6:30. Mattias says tickets are available at the door and that there will be non-meat meals available for those observing Good Friday.

A meal ticket costs $45 and includes a membership to Pheasants Forever. Additional meal tickets cost $15 for spouses and $10 for kids. Mattias says that though pheasant numbers have decreased quite a bit over the past couple decades, they have had good weather the last couple years. If there’s a good hatch this spring, he says those numbers could continue to improve. Mattias adds that since their chapter was established 26 years ago, the Marion County Pheasants Forever group has put in almost 6000 acres of wildlife habitat in the county alone.
