The Knoxville Recreation Center is asking for the public’s comments as they consider what lies ahead. A public forum will be held next Tuesday at 6:30 at the Rec Center as part of their facility assessment.

Director Brandon Nemmers tells KNIA/KRLS News that their consultant has already gathered data from observations of the Rec Center and discussions with staff. On Tuesday, the public is invited to explain what they think may be needed in the future, what programs should be brought back, and what areas may need improvement.

Nemmers says the consultant will take that information in as part of a comprehensive report that will be delivered to the public at a later date. He adds the report won’t just look at possible future projects, but the current building’s infrastructure as well to see what may need to be improved.
