The Central men’s tennis team swept Simpson, while the women stumbled a tad in their season finale on Saturday. The men wrapped up their road schedule in the regular season with an 8 – 1 win over the Storm. The Dutch swept the doubles matches and won five of six singles bouts, three of them in straight sets. Central’s men are now 12 – 5 overall and 5 – 2 in the conference, and they end their regular season on Tuesday at home against Wartburg. The Dutch women’s tennis team fell to Coe, 5 – 0, and followed that up with a 5 – 2 loss to Wartburg in the Iowa Conference women’s tournament. Central’s women close their spring season with a 2 – 5 mark and an overall year of 10 – 9. Chelsea Johnson is the only graduating senior on this year’s team.
