A Cuban Law Professor visited Two Rivers Cooperative in Pella on Friday. Maritza McCormack specializes in agricultural law and is the first Cuban Law Professor allowed into the US since the Federal Embargo began in 1962. Tracy Gathman at Two Rivers Co-op says that they discussed the history and current operations of the co-op, and took her on a tour of a local farm. He says that McCormack was impressed by the scope of Iowa Agriculture, explaining that in Cuba many farmers still use oxen as opposed to the large equipment she saw here.
