It may have taken them 15 days, but Central’s baseball team finally got onto the field to play, and they didn’t let the opportunity pass them up as they came from behind to win 8 – 4 over Lawrence University on Saturday. The game was back-and-forth until the sixth, when the Dutch attacked for four runs on the strength of three hits and a pair of sacrifice flies. Starter Ryan Goetzinger lasted four innings and only gave up two runs and struck out five, but did not factor into the decision. Judson McKown picked up the win by pitching through the sixth. The win breaks Central’s mini-two-game skid and improves their record to 7 – 3. Central’s baseball team will try and begin their Iowa Conference schedule on Monday with a rescheduled doubleheader against Loras at home at 1:00 p.m.
