Senator Amy Sinclair is hoping a corner has been turned on education reform negotiations. She tells KNIA/KRLS News that she was frustrated for the first two weeks of conference committee talks. Sinclair explains that they spent one meeting debating which parts of the bill are worth debating, noting that essentially means they were talking about things they already agreed on.
Democrats and Republicans traded proposals Thursday after an original Republican proposal sat on the table for more than a week. Sinclair said during last Friday’s legislative coffee session in Knoxville that it’s important teacher accountability measures stay intact in any compromise.
