Some golf courses in Marion County are getting ready to open. In Pleasantville, course officials say that they opened their doors for the first time this season on Tuesday. Despite last fall’s drought, they say that the course is actually in pretty good shape. One worker adds that the winter’s snow has definitely helped, especially in filling their pond. Pine Knolls Country Club in Knoxville was also open as of yesterday. Golf carts are allowed on the course today.
Bos Landen in Pella opened on Friday. That course fared well through the drought and winter. They were not able to mow before the course opening because the ground was still too moist to bring equipment onto the course, but mowing is planned for Thursday. Pella Golf and Country Club opens on Thursday, with a rake day for the public to help with course cleanup scheduled for Saturday.
