Both Knoxville Boys and Girls Track and Field Squad finished in the top half of the field at the 48th Panther Relays yesterday. On a windy day that saw the sprint races like the 100 and the 100 and 110 hurdles run from south to north rather than north to south as normal. On the girls side, Carrie Chambers earned a second place in the 200 and the 4×400 Relay team took a second place. As a team Knoxville finished fourth with 90 points. For the boys, Knoxville and Pella battled all day long but the Little Dutch’s depth prevailed as they took first place 38 points. Knoxville was able to pull off four first place showings, two by Tanner Dunkin in the 200 and 400, in fact Dunkin and Colton Spaur went one/two in the 200. Dunkin also was .02 from being as triple winner as he was edged out in the 100. Wick Cunningham was another winner for Knoxville as he took the 3200. The Panthers improving field effort netted a first place finish as Joe Stearns took top honors in the shot put.
