The Knoxville City Council discussed the future of the Young’s Park Kiwanis Miracle Playground project during their regular meeting yesterday evening. The playground equipment is being stored in a City building right now as the City works with an engineer to make sure the installation of the playground doesn’t cause things like runoff issues else where in the park. When it’s ready, it’s expected to take two days to install.
The Knoxville Soccer Club was there to explain their concerns about the space being used. They had previously planned to use it for a field for their under-10 league. Soccer club members asked to go out to the site with the city to make sure there was still enough room for their under-12 club. They added they want to make sure they’re working with the city to understand what’s available so they can communicate locations to other members of their league.
