Two area girls soccer squads will face off tonight in Ken Locke Stadium. Knoxville hosts P-C-M in hopes to get a win on the season, something that has not happened yet. Knoxville comes in 0-7 on the season and Coach Charlie Fisher says the four seniors, Marris Clark, Brooke Chrisman, Abby Pothoven, and Tyra Washington have done a good job guiding the team. P-C-M is 2-2 on the season after winning its first two, the Mustangs have lost their last two by a combined 15-2. However, when you look at who those teams were, Newton and Southeast Polk, their records are a combined 16-3. It is a varsity only match starting at 6:00. While the girls are at home, the boys are at H.A. Lynn Stadium in Newton to play the Cardinals. Knoxville is 4-3 on the season after a 1-0 win over what Coach Dylan Mick said was a very good Fairfield squad. Mick adds with ample practice time this week, he has been stressing communication. The Panthers’ three of the next four matches are against Little Hawkeye Conference power teams in Newton tonight, Norwalk Tuesday, and Pella the following Tuesday.
