Pella, Pella Christian, along with the Knoxville boys will be heading to Mahaska County today for a Co-Ed track meet in Oskaloosa. The Indians’ girls prevailed over a depleted roster for the Lady Dutch last Saturday in the Panther Relays due to their prom being held. The Pella boys’ J-V squad came up just short of winning the Pella Christian Invitational on Tuesday, while the varsity squad won at Chariton. Coach Brent Van Hauen says that even with the lack of training this year, their times and performances are right where he thought they would be at this point in the season. Pella Christian head girls’ track coach, Kevin Herdegen says that his girls, after their first couple of meets, have gained confidence in themselves, especially the younger athletes. For Knoxville Coach Mike Cunningham the Second wants to see continued improvement in his field events. C-two says along with those mentioned guys, Ryan Douglass is getting stronger in the long jump and Jacob Moats continues to progress in the high jump. Today’s track meet starts bright and early at 9:00 a.m.
