Opening Night A Week Late At The Knoxville Raceway

Posted By Sports On April 27, 2013 @ 5:56 am In Today’s Local Sports | Comments Disabled

A week late, but the Knoxville Raceway will have opening night tonight. The weather forecast has a green flag over the Raceway after calling off last week’s activates due to rain and cold temperatures. All three reining points champions are scheduled to defend their titles this season. Terry McCarl was taking practice laps along with nearly 60 other cars last night, as T-Mac is trying to defend his 410 championship. Matthew Stelzer also turned laps last night and will try to go back-to-back in the 305s. Clint Garner was the only defending champion not to take practice laps last night. He will try to hold on to his domination in the 360s as he will try to become sprint car’s version of Five Time, winning the points title five years in a row. You can hear the action starting with Live Track Side at 5:30, and Race Night’s Live at 7:15 on KNIA/KRLS and kniakrls.com.
