More frigid temperatures at the start of their meet, the PCM girls’ track team recorded a respectable third place finish at the Lew Lundy Relays in Montezuma on Tuesday. First place finishes went to the Mustangs’ sprint medley relay team and their 4 x 100 relay squad, while Rachel Peter and Abbi Gilson recorded second place, but season-best performances in the 3000 and discus, respectfully. A full list of the PCM results of the meet can be found online at kniakrls.com. Coach Bridget Burns told KNIA/KRLS Sports that her team turned in nice performances despite the cold weather, and last night, the girls showed signs that they are finally starting to get somewhat healthy after battling with sickness and injury all season long. The Mustangs’ girls will next be in action tomorrow at South Tama High School.
