Facing a lot of bigger schools, PCM girls’ head track coach, Bridget Burns was very pleased with her teams’ fifth place finish in their track meet at Eddyville-Blakesburg. Her team was just two points behind the fourth place host Rockets, with Grinnell coming in first and Oskaloosa in second. Alexis Kane had a pair of second place finishes in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400, Courtney VanHouweling was third in the long jump, and Abbi Gilson had the second furthest discus throw and third longest shot put. Burns told KNIA/KRLS Sports that her girls had a lot stronger finishes in the longer-distance races, and wants to see her team maintain the middle of the races better for future meets to cut even more time off. The Mustangs girls will be in action on Monday at Norwalk.
