Last week the City of Pella held a dinner honoring those in the Public Safety Field. The dinner honored volunteers who serve public safety in Pella from the Fire Department, Community Ambulance, and Police Reserve. 13 volunteers were recognized for their years of service in the various departments, ranging from 10 years of service to 40. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom was the longest serving volunteer honored for his 40 years of service.
