Standoff in Knoxville Resolved

The Knoxville Police Department reports that at 2:20 p.m. today the KPD responded to the Wheel Estates mobile home park to complete a welfare check on a possible suicidal person. The welfare check quickly escalated into the person barricading themselves in the residence. A short stand-off with the person ensued. The person was later subdued and secured with the use of a Taser. The person was taken to KACH for a mental health evaluation. This person also had outstanding felony warrants from both Warren County and Polk County.
There were no injuries to law enforcement officers or the person.
The PD would would like to thank the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa State Patrol and the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Drug Task Force for their assistance.
