Rookie head coach, Danielle Stubbs, begins her first season at the helm of the Pella Christian girls’ tennis team tonight at home, when Little Hawkeye Conference rival, Oskaloosa comes to Pella for a meet. With the lack of practices taking place outside for Stubbs’ team, she tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that she has been having the girls work on a lot of technical skills, including forehands, backhands and working on the ground strokes. In their first meet of the season, she’s hoping for her girls to play some good, clean and sound tennis against the Indians. Opening matches in this afternoon’s meet get underway on Pella Christian’s tennis courts at 4:15 p.m.
