Wednesday’s storm brought some power outages to Pella. Pella Cooperative Electric reported numerous outages in their coverage area Wednesday, mainly due to lightning strikes around Pleasantville, and in other locations in Marion, Warren, and Mahaska Counties. There were, at most, 50 customers without power at one time. Outages occurred sporadically throughout the day, and power was restored to all yesterday.
Pella City Electric also reported outages during the storm, one as the result of a lightening strike, the other as the result of a failed cable near the Vermeer Substation. Both outages were repaired in approximately an hour.
