A woman living in Mitchellville is accused of stealing a motor vehicle in Marion County for the second time in a year. 24-year-old Crystal Prose was already on probation after being convicted last year of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. This past January, she allegedly stole a Melcher woman’s vehicle. According to court documents, Prose had allegedly been living with the woman, who she had befriended, for five days and had supplied her with a fake last name. Prose has been charged with second degree theft and faces up to five years in prison if convicted. Earlier this year, Prose was found guilty of eluding police and assault on a peace officer in Polk County.
