After dropping their last three games, the Central baseball team woke up with their backs up against it, and came away with a pair of victories over Luther on Saturday, 4 – 2 and 11 – 7. The Dutch finally got hits when they needed them, despite being outhit in the first game 9 – 5. Robbie Rushing hit another home run in the nightcap, and scored eight runs in the final four innings to take the lead despite a late Norse push. Central improves to 19 – 16 overall and in the conference, they are 11 – 13. Another pair of wins today for Central guarantees them a spot in the Iowa Conference tournament later in the week. Today’s doubleheader is scheduled to get going at 1:00 p.m.
