Day two of the Class 1A State Track Meet was ruled by Pleasantville, as the Trojans turned in a pair of nice performances that put them on the medal stand. Patrick Sheehey tied his season high in the high jump by clearing the bar at 6’2”, which was good enough for fourth place overall. The Pleasantville boys ran the fast heat in the 4 x 200 meter relay, and even without the presence of Chris Prill, the team finished fifth in their heat and overall, with a time of 1:33.20. The Trojans also came in seventh in the 4 x 100 meter dash prelims, clocking in at 45.89, which did not qualify them for finals. On Melcher-Dallas’ side, Ross Dawson threw 125-11 for ninth place overall, and the Saints’ 4 x 400 meter relay team came in fourth in their heat with a time of 3:36.35. The Saints’ Cody Alexander will run in the finals of the 800 meters today at 10:30 a.m.
