The latest multi-event phenom to come out of Central College goes by the name of Eric Larson, who just last week, won the NCAA Division III outdoor decathlon to sweep in his primary event after winning the indoor competition a few months ago. Assistant men’s track coach, Jim Fuller says that though the decathlon is very grueling physically, it’s just as hard on the mind, too. Fuller went on to say that Larson’s next goal is to reach 7,000 points in the decathlon. This year marks the third straight year that a Dutch athlete has won the multi-event platform and the fifth time since 2001. Larson will be entering his junior year this fall.
