Dr. Earl McKeever received the key to the City of Knoxville and was warmly recognized by hospital staff and others during a reception held this morning. Just about everyone in the building gathered in the commons area to applaud the man who has been serving Knoxville Hospital and Clinics for the past 50 years. In addition to handing over the key to the city, Mayor Don Zoutte declared Wednesday as Dr. Earl J. McKeever Day in the city.
Knoxville Hospital and Clinics CEO Kevin Kincaid says that Dr. McKeever has a calling and a passion for serving, and the community is fortunate to have a man dedicated to caring for patients and anyone else who needs help. The hospital is hosting two programs for Dr. McKeever this weekend. A get-together for all the people Dr. McKeever delivered as babies will take place Saturday evening. On Sunday afternoon, there will be an open house for Dr. McKeever. Kincaid says it’s a chance for the entire community to thank McKeever for his years of service. That runs from 2-4pm at the Knoxville High School, with a special program beginning at 3pm.
