The City of Knoxville will likely accept the title to the property at 110 East Robinson Street. That’s what City Manager Harold Stewart says is probably the best course of action for the community during a public hearing Thursday. Property owner Susan Vincent Lewis told the City Council there were no judgments or leans against that property; if City Attorney Bob Stuyvesant finds that it’s clear, the property will likely be signed over to the City during May 20th’s meeting.

The City will then be responsible for the demolition of the property, which is expected to cost around $60,000. Assistant City Manager Dylan Feik says he’s already developing the specifications for demolition so it can be bid as quickly as possible. The Council asked that Lewis clear the building by the end of next week. Stewart hopes the building can be demolished by mid-July.
