A trailer home was destroyed Thursday afternoon in southern Marion County when it was engulfed in flames. Columbia Fire and Rescue and the Melcher-Dallas Fire Department were called out to the scene at 926 Underwood Drive just after 2:30 after a neighbor reported seeing flames from the trailer. Columbia Fire Chief John Pierce tells KNIA/KRLS News that they were able to contain the fire from totaling the entire structure, but it likely received too much smoke damage to be salvaged. He says the cause is under investigation at this time, but there was no electricity or propane going into the home as it had been vacant since fall. There were no injuries. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
