Several homes were evacuated along Lincoln St. in Knoxville after a gas line break Wednesday morning. A two-inch plastic gas line broke just after 8am as Alliant Energy was doing work on the corner of Lincoln and Hobert. The Knoxville Police Department closed Lincoln St. from Larson St. to Jackson St. Deputy Fire Chief Ben Truetken tells KNIA/KRLS News that since there was a northerly wind, homes to the south of the break all the way to Larson St. were evacuated. Alliant Energy officials fixed the break at around 9:10am.
