The Pella Christian girls’ track and field team was represented at Drake Relays and they finished sixth in the Little Hawkeye Conference meet, two feats that Coach Kevin Herdegen is very proud of in spite of their youth. Herdegen and his Eagles will now turn their attention to the action coming up this week, starting with a big meet at Pella Stadium on Monday. Herdegen says that one big thing he’s focusing on between now and Monday is cleaning up the hand-offs during the relay events. After that tune-up, the Eagles’ girls will head to Eddyville-Blakesburg on Thursday for the state qualifying meet. Kevin Herdegen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that he just wants to see his girls run the best times of the year this week and he would be content.
