A Marion County man will be sentenced this month after a jury found him guilty of simple assault. Kevin Matthew Reed faces up to 30 days in jail when he’s sentenced on May 20th. The state will seek a jail term and for Reed to be ordered to complete a Batters’ Education program. Assistant County Attorney Ben Hayek prosecuted the case. He thanks the jury for their service and the Sheriff’s Office for their professionalism. County Attorney Ed Bull commends Hayek for his decision to try the case and his commitment to defend the rights of victims of violence.
