The Knoxville City Council will consider suspending the utility franchise fee at the VA Campus during their meeting this evening. The VA recently filed a lawsuit against the City of Des Moines regarding their franchise fees, stating they violated a provision against cities taxing federal agencies. They’ll also vote on final plans for the City’s paving and sidewalk contracts and on the on first consideration of an Inflow and Infiltration Ordinance. The meeting begins at 6:15 at the Council Chambers. It can be heard live on 1320 KNIA.
