The Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad will try to go where no girls tennis squad has even gone in school history tomorrow, the Team State Tournament. The Panthers will take on Davenport Assumption in the class one-A Regional final in Iowa City. Assumption arrived in the regional via a 5/2 win over Marion on Saturday, while Knoxville has been waiting on an opponent for the last week, due to only four teams in the Panthers’ side of the bracket. Knoxville was not just sitting around all week. Regardless of the outcome tomorrow the Panthers know they will be represented at the individual state tournament by the doubles team of Kassi Griggs and Taylor Carter. They were runners-up this week at the regional in Pella. The team regional final is scheduled to start at three tomorrow in Iowa City, the winner gets to take on either Fairfield or Keokuk in the first round of the state tournament on Tuesday.
