Oskaloosa becomes just another victim of the dynamic, all-around play of the Pella girls’ soccer team. The Lady Dutch beat the Indians last night by a score of 5 – 0. The score was 3 – nil at half, thanks to goals from Mallory Lynch, Allie DeMeulenaere, and Gabi Meirick. Coach Mark Howard tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that he gradually pulled all of his seniors out of the game until there were primarily freshmen and sophomores playing the majority of the second half. Katie Canfield also found the back of the net in that second forty minutes, and Molly Kellar had a breakaway goal for her first career varsity tally. The Lady Dutch are now 14 – 1 on the season and they’ll wrap up regular season play Thursday on the road against an also 14 – 1 Dallas Center-Grimes squad.
