Sophomore Eric Larson will not soon be forgetting the date of May 24, 2013, as yesterday the young man won yet another decathlon, this one at the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track and Field Meet. Larson is the third straight Dutch athlete to win the national title in the decathlon, and it’s the fifth time Central has won it since 2001. Larson’s final tally was 6,969 points, over 100 better than second place Brandon Zarnoth of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. For the women, Felicia Coleman finished her collegiate career placing 13th in the 100 meter dash prelims. Sophomore Eli Horton will be competing in the 5,000 meters shortly before 6:00 p.m. to round out the events involving Central’s athletes.
