The Pella boys’ soccer team seemed to use the fire and intensity of losing games to two ranked opponents last week in their game last night against Carlisle, blanking the Wildcats 9 – 0. The Little Dutch scored six times before the halftime whistle sounded, which was more than enough to give them their tenth victory on the season. Seth Johnson had a hat trick, Austin Van Genderen added a pair of goals and an assist, while Daniel Langenfeld and Jacob Vollmar each had a goal and a helper to lead the Little Dutch, who are now 10 – 4 – 2 on the season and 4 – 1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. They’ll step aside from league play today to play Heart of Iowa Conference member Nevada on the road. That game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. Full stats of the Carlisle game are below.
