Class 1A powerhouse Nevada was just a little too much for the Pella boys’ soccer team on Tuesday, as the Cubs prevailed 1 – 0. Coach Mark Solomon tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Nevada put on pressure early and often, and it paid off for them in the eighth minute, as they were able to take advantage of a missed offsides call to put one past the Pella goalkeeper to tally the first and only goal of the game. The Little Dutch would play better in the second half, but couldn’t get any opportunities to come to fruition, and the score held pat at 1 – 0 in favor of the Cubs. Pella is now 10 – 5 – 2 on the season and remain at 4 – 1 in the conference, and they’ll wrap up their regular season this Thursday against Newton.
