Both PCM soccer squads were unable to beat a pair of Des Moines teams on Tuesday. The PCM boys’ soccer team came up just short against Des Moines Christian, 4 – 2. Coach Darrin Telfer tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Des Moines Christian passed the ball very well last night, and he’s hoping to see his guys break out of their recent slump they’ve been having. Jamie Ray and Mart Hartgers were the two goal scorers for the Mustangs, who fall to 2 – 5 on the season. They’ll play at Centerville next on Thursday. Meanwhile, the PCM girls, who were coming off a 9 – 1 win over South Tama on Monday, got blanked by Des Moines Hoover last night, 3 – 0. Coach Craig Naeve says that the defense and team as a whole looked tired after winning the previous night. The Mustangs’ girls are right back at it on Thursday as well, playing host to Gilbert.
