One stroke made the difference between making it to sectionals and being on the bubble for the PCM girls’ golf team. Nevada shot a 394 to win the district meet, Albia was second with a 403, and the Mustangs were third with a painstaking 404. Maddie Peters individually will move on, as she shot a round of 94 which was good enough for a tie for runner-up honors. Cassidy Van Veen was second for PCM with a score of 101. Coach Val Edwards loses a “great group of seniors,” including Maddie Peters, Rachel Phifer, Hannah Hugen, Kaitlyn Wilkie and Taylor Thomas.
